Mechanic Ship Engine

Job Summary

Operate, monitor, and maintain the vessel's main and auxiliary engines, and repair diesel engines and mechanical systems so the vessel operates safely and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of the main engine, auxiliary engines, and vessel mechanical components
• Inspect the condition of, clean, and lubricate engines and vessel equipment
• Diagnose and repair faults in diesel engines, pumps, and mechanical systems
• Carry out preventive maintenance in line with the Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
• Collect and deliver spare parts or engines to the workshop
• Control engine spare parts usage and prepare spare parts requirement plans
• Assist with docking, overhaul, and engine troubleshooting together with the lead technician
• Prepare repair work reports and engine performance documentation

Performance Targets

• Ensure the vessel's engines operate reliably and to standard
• Minimal errors in engine and vessel mechanical system repairs
• Engine repair time completed before the specified deadline
• Completeness of engine maintenance documentation
• Provide periodic reporting on engine repair and maintenance work

Qualifications

• Min. senior high school / vocational school in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• BNSP / CoC / engine rating certification preferred
• Min. 3 years experience in vessel engine maintenance
• Understanding of engine & electrical repair standards
• Willing to work both onboard and at the workshop
